Celebrations Of Life
A "Celebration of Life" can be traditional, alternative, spiritual, non-religious or completely religious. Whichever is chosen, It will always be bespoke, and relevant.
What is meant by “Celebration of Life”? Is “Celebration of Life” another term for a funeral?
Some consider the funeral ceremony to be the celebration, while for others it’s the separate gathering. I believe the word “funeral” and the term “celebration of life” are interchangeable. At the crematorium or graveside, no matter whether the ceremony is sombre or joyful, we are celebrating the life of our loved one.
For some, the celebration is a ceremony that follows a direct cremation, on the same or a different day. Whether you plan a solemn ceremony, a joyful tribute, a party, a separate gathering, lunch at the pub, the person you have lost will always be at the centre of it as you honour their legacy and unique qualities. After all, we aren’t celebrating the death of someone we love. We are celebrating the life they lived.
