Funerals

Graceful and respectful

We are faced with many decisions when a loved one dies. Not everyone will want a wholly religious or a strictly humanist ceremony. Your choice may be influenced by personal preferences, the known wishes of the deceased or by cultural traditions. Celebrant-led funerals provide an opportunity to choose a personal way of saying goodbye in a ceremony focused on the wishes, beliefs and values of the person who has died.

Hymns and prayers can be included if you wish or you can choose to have no religious or spiritual content at all. The ceremony can take place anywhere that is not a religious building. A crematorium, a graveside or green burial site, at home, or at an appropriate place chosen by you.

I will meet with you to discuss how to commemorate the life of your loved one. I am a professional funeral celebrant, trained on a course accredited by the University of Winchester. We will work together to structure a ceremony that offers you the security and inspiration of beautiful, heartfelt words.

You will have the opportunity to approve the words before the ceremony takes place. After the ceremony a copy of the tribute will be given to your family as a keepsake.

It is important you find the right celebrant for what may be an extremely difficult day. Please call for an informal discussion to explore the most fitting way to celebrate the life of a special person.

I have been meaning to email you to say a very big thank you for your contribution and leadership in the day and build up to the funeral. You really helped us get through it and we are very grateful. I think Dad would have liked all the arrangements. I will not hesitate to recommend you to my friends.
Thank you again.
